Job Summary

The Buying Systems Analyst supports the department with the implementation and handling of business systems as well as the testing of various systems. This position will generate reports on a variety of topics and will be required to process map and project plan to ensure deadlines are met. This position will liaise with multiple stakeholders within the business, such as administrators or managers, as well as external business partners, such as Suppliers and Service Providers.

Essential Functions

  • Carry out research, analysis, testing and liaising with internal and external teams to source relevant data
  • Implement process improvements designed by the Projects Team
  • Coordinate process adherence for systems across the wider purchasing team
  • Serve as point of contact for issues raised by the accounting, supply chain and logistics teams
  • Assist in the development and understanding of team KPI’s
  • Understand and transform business processes into system requirements
  • Work on multiple complex project steps simultaneously in deadline-driven environment
  • Understand the objective and impact of the data maintained on the business when developing solutions
  • Document any process changes to be referenced upon request
  • Review process changes as a part of the 4-Eye principle
  • Escalate issues proactively to the manager in a timely manner
  • Understand confidentiality of information and handle accordingly
  • Record meeting minutes to a high standard to be utilized across departments
  • Train or guide the work of other team members on occasion
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting company task requirements and responsibilities
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and conflicting priorities
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as additional systems (standard as well as customized systems)
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks to ensure accuracy and completion within given deadline
  • Ability to scrutinize data for accuracy

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • In lieu of degree, 3-5 years of experience in related field


Preferred Skills, Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • EDI experience
  • Excel experience
  • Familiarity with retail industry standards and relevant legal requirements
  • German language skills


Physical Job Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary (standing and/or seated) position more than half the time
  • The person in this position may need to move about the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) less than half the time
  • The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) less than 15 lbs.
  • This position operates machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing, etc.) all of the time
  • This position requires the ability to spend all of the time viewing computer monitors
  • The person in this position must be able to identify and distinguish between colors less than half the time
