Job Summary

The HR Director  – Talent Acquisition is responsible for the design, development and management of the company’s talent sourcing and acquisition process across the organization.  The HR Director  – Talent Acquisition will report into the Vice President  – Human Resources and will lead a team of talent acquisition professionals comprised of  management, recruiting specialists, administrative support, and other recruiting delivery professionals who manage the full recruitment life cycle on a diverse portfolio of roles. This leader, through influence and partnership, will coach HR professionals on best recruiting practices and assure adherence to hiring guidelines at corporate headquarters and in the regions.

Essential Functions

  • Lead a team of recruiting professionals and actively foster the development of a high-performance, team-oriented recruiting culture
  • Design and implement programs and processes to ensure effective sourcing, selection and on-boarding of quality talent
  • Build and maintain relationships with external search firms to source and recruit executive-level talent
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with appropriate third-party organizations/entities in order to support staffing needs. (i.e. job boards, career fairs, universities, contracting agencies)
  • Manage the recruitment budget and explore opportunities for cost reduction
  • Build relationships with internal leaders, partnering with them to assess needs and create solutions
  • Define and track recruitment metrics and take proper actions to close gaps
  • Keep abreast of trends and innovative recruiting techniques in order to be competitive in state-of-the-art recruiting practices
  • Assess current and future staffing needs of the organization and develop appropriate talent acquisition
  • Work with leadership to develop, communicate and implement staffing strategy and support initiatives or programs; educate management on staffing strategy and their supporting role(s)
  • Monitor and analyze recruiting, diversity, retention and other HR metrics; develop appropriate action plans to address staffing needs
  • Design, implement and monitor internal and external recruiting and selection processes and programs to attract, select and retain a qualified, diverse workforce in support of the company’s strategic growth initiatives
  • Provide leadership and direction for retail operations, including the development of HR generalists in the field
  • Work with business partners to identify and address recruiting and selection training needs
  • Provide information about staffing and recruiting programs/initiatives in a timely and effective manner utilizing standard communication tools identified for all levels of the organization
  • Provide leadership and performance feedback to staff, including appropriate performance metrics and reporting
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to allow staff to increase their skills and grow professionally, building internal pipeline and key successors

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Demonstrate experience leading, managing, coaching, and evaluating management and staff
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state recruitment standards and staffing best practices
  • Demonstrated passion for using data to inform decisions and drive execution
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to effectively manage a dispersed team and to influence others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth, rapidly changing, fun environment
  • Expertise in the use of social media and other contemporary search methodologies required

 

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of talent acquisition experience; with a minimum of 4 years management experience
  • In-depth experience with applicant tracking systems required
  • Experience in recruitment for a large company (5,000+)

 

Physical Job Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
  • The person in this position may need to move about the corporate office(s) all of the time
  • The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) less than 15 lbs.
  • This position operates machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing) more than half of the time
  • This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

 

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between regional offices/distribution centers less than 25% of the time
  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
