Job Summary

The HR Manager will provide expertise, business support, and recommendations for the development and adherence of HR programs, initiatives, and practices designed to meet organizational business objectives and associate needs.  This role will create and review programs, suggest modifications, and ensure Lidl US’s achievement of competitive market position and other goals identified by the business.

Essential Functions

  • Manage specialized HR function for a business unit or line of business
  • Analyze and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations and goals for improvement of company’s personnel policies and practices
  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the productivity of HR programs/projects
  • Recommend changes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
  • Base decisions on HR best practices, Lidl US procedures and policies, and business practices to achieve results
  • Implement strategic organizational change to increase productivity and employee satisfaction
  • Provide business support that ensures adherence to HR programs, initiatives, and best practices
  • Supervise, manage, and direct a team of one or more employees
  • Train or guide the work of other team members
  • Prioritize and adapt to changing priorities
  • Manage confidential information, escalating issues when appropriate
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, peers, and external partners
  • Work independently with limited direction
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Knowledge of HR management including but not limited to principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, and the democratic political processes

General knowledge of HRIS systems, experience in SAP HR

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Strong attention to detail and organizational and project management skills

Strong analytical problem-solving skills


Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

BA/BS degree in related field required

3 – 5 years of experience in related field required


Physical Job Requirements

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time

The person in this position may need to move about the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) less than half the time

The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) less than 15 lbs.

This position operates machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists (ex: typing, etc.) more than half the time

This position requires the ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors

The person in this position must be able to identify and distinguish between colors less than half the time


Travel Requirements

This position commutes between regional offices/distribution centers less than 25% of the time within a day

This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time

This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time

Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train



Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, GPHR certificationspreferred
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources or MBA preferred
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in related field preferred
