Job Summary

The Analyst - Purchasing Administration (Merchandise Master Data) is responsible for maintaining and validating item and supplier data in the Lidl US in-house, SAP-based master data system. The Analyst must ensure data is accurate and properly maintained according to each business case. The role is responsible for performing data verification in accordance with Lidl’s 4-eye principle. Additionally, this individual works closely with various other departments, and effective communication skills are key to succeeding in the role. The Analyst requires superb attention to detail, complex problem-solving ability, and must develop a solid understanding of department processes and procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Perform complex data entry in SAP and other systems with a high level of accuracy
  • Improve the quality of Master Data by assisting with routine audits and data cleansing activities
  • Create in-store price tags and ensure these adhere to regional legal requirements  
  • Train and guide the development of new team members
  • Analyze data reports, identify errors and execute corrections 
  • Thoroughly understand and implement various requirements of different item categories
  • Ensure compliance with all Lidl US and relevant legal guidelines
  • Responsible for problem solving Master Data related issues  
  • Carry out testing of system updates
  • Map and document team processes
  • Understand the impact of the maintained data on the business  
  • Maintain data accuracy to ensure business is operational, items can be ordered and sold correctly 
  • Execute projects in deadline-driven environment
  • Update guidelines and training handbooks
  • Record meeting minutes to a high standard to be utilized across departments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 

  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and conflicting priorities 
  • Understand information security and confidentiality 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand impact on up & downstream processes
  • Familiarity with retail industry and relevant legal requirements is desirable
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks to ensure accuracy and completion within given deadline

 

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience  

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • In lieu of degree, 4+ years of experience in a retail related field where data maintenance and management were a core part of the role

  • Previous SAP experience

 

Physical Job Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced working environment, including the store(s), distribution center(s), warehouse(s), and/or corporate office(s) with the capability to switch job functions/roles quickly
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half the time
  • Ability to maneuver cases of product (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) up to 30 lbs. 
  • Ability to operate machinery and/or equipment that requires the constant use of hands/fingers/wrists
  • Ability to spend more than half the time viewing computer monitors
  • Ability to identify and distinguish between colors more than half the time

 

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices and/or distribution centers less than 25% of the time
  • This position requires overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time
  • This position requires overnight international travel less than 25% of the time
  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train
